Lynx Kitten's Life
Lynx Kitten's Life
You know all cats have kittens or cubs. But do you know what kittens I want to tell you about? Lynx kittens! A cat so hard to see and not a lot of people know about it. Still the cat has a life and I am here to tell about it’s childhood.
Nursing young Ones
Look how hard it is to be a Lynx kitten. Life is always hard when there is one to five of you all weak.Without their strong Lynx mother they would all die. With predators like foxes and no food but their mothers milk it is dangerous be alone without their mother. Living in a cave, log, ar space in a tree you might think its easy to hide, but not for them. Most of the time when the mother is so hungry she has to leave.
She sometimes moves them to a new hiding place one at a time. Kittens depend on their mother for
a long time usually three to four months. Their eyes open at two weeks old but they are still helpless.
Learning for life
Now their older, and do you think they can hunt on their own? No! Because they have to learn first just like you and me. There mother starts feeding them meat at six weeks old but they still stay home. As growing up they play games, but not games we play, they climb trees and ponce on each other that what they call fun. Their mother leads them to prey half dead prey and slowly teaches how to hunt. So it is hard to learn to hunt quickly don’t you agree now?
Leaving is not sad
Leaving home is sad for us, but not for them when they leave they give their good-by by biting. Ouch! When females go away their territory is close to their mothers but their brothers or brother go far far off! Wow! long time to walk. But sadly, when the kittens are on their own their life is risky because they could cross roads and get hit. It is hard to start family and live long for them, but if they are lucky they could live to 10 to 12 years. But when they're on their own they do not want, nor have have to see their family again, and their family again, and they're not sad about it.
