History Alive

1. How was your project connected to 2-3 others in the class? Why? I think that we can vaguely connect to a few of the topics like Albert Einstien who fought for Jewish and African American rights during the same time period of our topic. I can also vaguely connect to all the topics on women's rights because they were being segregated against just like blacks were during our time period. Some other topics that if they were made that would have connected really nicely with our topic would be Segregation and Unfair treatment during service in the wars, Jim Crow laws, and the civil rights movement. Even though not a lot of topics in our class really relate to ours, there are lots of different things that do, and if you look you can find that our topic really helped shape America and helped black realize that the discrimination was running deep and really had to be stopped before it turned back into slavery. 2. What did you learn about your topic, or about researc...

Rosa Parks

1. Why is bus segregations even a big deal? Who cares who sits in the different parts of the bus? Why does this matter at all?  This is a big deal because while the whites barely ever take them but they get priority, and that also means they are forcing tired hard workers to stand in the back of the bus while the whites are comfortable in the front. Also, the black people care who sits in what part because when they sit in the back it feels like they don't matter as much and it is a hassle to go and sit back there. This matters because it made the blacks feel like they were a lower class, not equal. It was also quite mean of the white man to say that he didn't want to sit next to her. 2. Put yourself in Rosa parks shoes: You're going home from work. You have a family. A small incident arises. What do you honestly do? How far would you go? (Jail? pay a fine? Lose your life? Explain your limits.) I think that I would have done what she had done because it was even in fa...

NHD Reflection Feb.2, 2018

1. I'm really excited about  recording our voice-overs so that we can finally hear all our hard work, and I'm also really excited about putting it all together and seeing all our work come together.  2. I think that getting the script perfect, where it sounds really good and professional. We researched so much and putting it in the right order, and using the right vocabulary was much more difficult than I anticipated. We spent a long time making it sound perfect and professional.   3. The Library of Congress was our best resource because it was a collection of primary sources that were reliable and gave us tons of good information. It gave us lots of good small details that helped define our story more.   4. the first things that we are going to work on is   1. collecting the photos   2. Recording our Script 3. finding the right music 4. Putting it all together

Kitchen Midden

Dr.Tori here and I’ve been asked by CSI to search kitchen midden, to find out how the people lived. I need to search through garbage (kitchen midden) to find out all the facts. Throughout my search I have found clues and evidence to how this person lived, first I think that this person has a very healthy diet and probably is vegetarian but also eats fish because of all the tomatoes, beans, lettuce, eggs, and chips and there was evidence on the receipt. This person probably cooks for fun because we found very long receipt and lots of food bags and also has a receipt with 57 items. This person is most likely married or married with children (probably older) because there is a lot of food enough to feed a family, also spices, and no baby food. and the parents or couple are older and by very expensive wine.  Bases on a reasonable guess this person owns a car because of all the groceries might not fit in a taxi. In my opinion the person lives in a big apartment because you would need...

Judge Right

Judge Right Now like most people I was so afraid to met my new teachers, and also like most kid I was nervous for a homework overload on the first day! Ug! But my feelings have now flipped. On the first day of school I walk into my homeroom heart beating fast and head swarming, the teacher is there and I thought I might have a nervous breakdown and the teacher sort of gave the the imprint she could be strict if she wanted to. Well wednesday changed my mind about the principles and the teachers we were in an assembly when one of our principles switches the slide to behaviors the hole Middle School sighs miserably. Just as he started to speak music comes on and all the teachers get go to the floor and start to dance?!?! After that I definitely will not judge any teacher before I truly get to know them. My thinking has definitely changed don’t judge anyone based on stories, older kids and sometimes adults. doing this will affect how i see people and i hope it helps me make ...
