Art 8 Identity Painting

Image
In Art 8 we were working on an acrylic painting, we first to a photo of ourselves and then we painted and drew on images that represented ourselves. Some of the items I choose to include was leaves, a river coming from a paint brush, multicolor swirls, and my families names in different fonts. Before I created my final draft I brainstormed ideas and did a rough draft. 1. Brainstorming - What are some of the defining characteristics of your identities? how have you shown these in your piece? I think that some of my defining characteristics are the fact that I try to reach out and do new things, that I love nature and my family. I care greatly about the people around me and am always trying to find new ways to grow. I think that also that I love art because it helps me express my own hopes, dreams, and beliefs. My family is represented by the art pallet that I am holding that has their names on it, and my love for nature is represented by the 3 leaves that float above my head. I t...

Art 8 Surreal Sandwich Design

Image
In Art for our first unit, we created 2-D Sandwichs that had to have some form of surrealism in them. We experimented many different themes and media the main two being water color and color pencil. The image below is a picture of my final work. 1. The main Element of art that I used in this piece was value because I did lots of shading using lights and darks to create value to give the items a more realistic look. I also used the elements of Color, Texture, and Space to create this realistic look. Some of the Principles I used was Contrast, Balance, and Emphais, to make the different tools stand out, but still, belong. 2.  What was the most challenging part of this assignment?   I think the two most challenging parts of this assignment was making sure that the texture and the value looked right so everything was realistic. The second most challenging thing I think was making sure it was balanced in color, so that meant choosing the right background so ever...

Art 7 Claymotion Unit

Image
My idea for my story was that a bunny was just foraging and then a wolf sneaks up on it, the bunny is then alarmed by the wolf and fleas and the wolf takes chase. The bunny then finds a lake and bushes looks around for the wolf and then hides behind a bush, then the wolf comes and he can't find the bunny so then he goes away, and the bunny safely hops away.  Why is correct proportion important when creating 3-Dimensional clay figure artworks? I think that it is important because you don't want your characters to look lopsided or proportionate because then they don't look nice and are not ideal for animation, you want them to look as realistic as possible, especially if you are making humans. 2. If you were to do this assignment again what would you do differently? I would make it longer and have a slightly more complex story line, also I would take more pictures so that it looks more though and not so choppy. 3. Which full-length clay animation film is your...

Portrait Photography

Image
I was inspired to take this photo because it reminded of the good side and bad side of you that site on either side of your shoulder, Mana is the solemn and evil devil, Kacey is the confident and strong angle. We used the studio and I directed on light on Kacey and the other on Mana. I experimented with them until Mana's light was at a very low setting and Kacey's light was on a moderate setting so that she was brighter and Mana was darker. I took a photo before this and then changed the lighting so that it was better. I experimented with exposure and I put it on a bit darker exposure so that only certain parts of them are illuminated. We used side lighting to illuminate a part of them Kacey's light doesn't shine on Mana a lot and Mana's light doesn't shine on Kacey a lot. I did a little editing so that the color was more clear and also so that they stand out from the black background a lot more. Question 1: What is Exposure? It is how much light you let i...

SAS Eagle Design

Image
In art class this was our first assignment we were working using one eagle dising and making different varations of the eagle. we were also working on using the principles of designs, I really enjoyed this unit because it gave us a lot of freedom on what tools we wanted to use. In this eagle design I made a eagle that is like a stiched up stuff animal, I got this idea when I was think of my grandmother who loves stiching and sewing. I was also working with Harmony and Unity becuase it is broken up but the pieces are working together to to make the picture of an eagle. I used the pink colours to also emphsis this. I think that the most difficult part of this assignment was the begging for me because at the begging I was having a hard time generating good ideas that would go with the principles of design but once I got going I couldn't stop. Of all the tools and medias that I worked with I expecally like the scrach board because it helped me not to go over board with colour and ...

Art - Photography

Image
1.Did one of your photographs show more than one of the categories outlined in this assignment? If so which one and how? Yes my atypical angle was a close up on a bike wheel and it was a good texture to because it had the texture of the wheel to. 2.If you could do this assignment again wat would you do differently ? I would have payed more attention to detail and angles and the little things around me. Also don't think a photo is bad before asking someone else. 3. Which photo was you best? Explain Why. It was my best because I was playing around and it reflected some water and snow outside and it reflected well in the pot that I was holding and it mad a great side reflection with the metal of the pot to create a reflection with the color that atreacts in the middle right to the reflection. The prosses of getting the photo ready was O.K. I was just in my hotel room looking for a reflection and grabbed a pot and angled it a reflection outside. The pots bottom made it a odd ...

Art 6 Name Design

Image
We had to create a design with our name clearly readable. So first we had to think up 4 ideas then pick our best one here are the 4 ideas. Then we did a rough draft once we had conferanced with Mr.K and made a sketch and once we made our final after transfering. We ended up doing letter experments. Next we tried out the materials on our rough draft. Lastly we did our final. The best part of this assignment was the ideas because I just go to brain storm posiblitys that I can do somthing else with. the challenging part was the final because you had to just focas on one part and not experement.
