End-Of-Year Reflection

My new year learning in Math 8+ this year include parabolas, exponential equations, factoring, finding x and y-intercepts from the equation of a line, and scientific notation.  Over summer break, I should review and practice scientific notation,  Graphing quadratics, simplifying algebraic expressions, and solving systems of linear equations algebraically. Practicing old problems and looking over old worksheets worked well in preparing for the end of the year test. To better prepare for tests in high school, I should look over my old tests better and practice more worksheets.  The Learning Behaviors I will focus on improving our organization and reflection and I will do this by looking back more on old tests see what I need to improve and then improving on it, and also I will write myself more notes on what I need to do to study and bring in.

Polygon and Angle Reflections

Image
1. What are the common properties of all polygons? The common properties of a polygon is that they have 3 or more strait sides, all the sides meet at vertices, it is a closed shape, and the sides do not intersect. Polygons can be very different they can be a triangle, rectangle, parallelogram, octagon, and a star. 2. What does the measure in degrees tell you about an angle? What are some common benchmark angles? The measure of degrees in an angle tells me what type of angle it is, it also tells me how far it is from a full rotation, how to name it, and it tells me how much I would need to add to get to a certain angle. The degrees can be estimated and/or measured to find it's exact degree witch will help in problems. But moving on some common benchmark angles are 90˚, 45˚, and 30˚. These are common benchmark angles because 90˚is 1/4 of a full rotation so it is easy to add and use as a basic estimation point also it is a right angle so it will help you in telling what type of...

6 Grade Reflection

1. My greatest accomplishment was learning quickly and being able to understand so that I could help others and being able to learn to appreciate it and use all the time. 2. I will miss Mr.Hardange and little amounts of homework. And I look forward to a new teacher and learning new topics.

Millionarie Reflection

Image
I finished my project and showed it to my parents then wrote a reflection on it. I think this project was very helpful for when you get older and will help me understand how to manage my money. I was also helpful for math and learning percentages and see how I can use this skill in everyday life. I hope that this will make my life easier and help me understand the world.

Hardinge, McComb, Munden & Co

Image
Now you must invest your money in Hardinge, McComb, Munden & Co because they give you the best interest and and investment for your money without doing anything you can earn more money become a millionaire!!! Just think if you enter enough money you could sit on your butt and use it all. We've even had people saying that the've kept there money under there bed instead of getting money for you money. Now how do you live without interest?? Anyway we're going to answer a couple questions you might have!! Now what is interest??? Interest is a small part of money added to yours, normally is is 5% of the original amount and than 5% of the new amount and goes on like that. If you put more money in it will still be 5% of that new amount. It's how you make money off of your money!!! How is interest calculated?  Interest is calculated by finding 5% (or whatever the precent may be) of the existing number. So 5% of 1,000 is 50 and so you have 1,050 dollars, then you...

Multiplying decimals

Image
Steps 1. Count how many digits behind the decimal points (3 digits in this case) 2. Then take the decimal points away and multiply like normal. 3. Last add a decimal point the amount of numbers you counted in the beginning. Then you have your answer.

dividing fractions

Image
So I'm solving 3/4 divided by 1/8. So first you must qestion that how many 1/8ths fit into 3/4ths. Then your going to start solving by switching 1/8 to 8/1 becuase you are going to miltipy next and if you didn't witch one it would just be multipying and you only switch the one that is being divided into the other number. Next you multipy across the top and bottom so 3 times 8 = 24 and 4 times 1 = 4 so 24 is the top and 4 is the bottom making 24/4. Lastly you simplify, find a number they both can be divided by 4 in this case 24 divided by 4 = 6 and 4 divided by 4 = 1 so 6/1 so 6 wholes so the answer is 6.

Judge Right

Image
Judge Right Now like most people I was so afraid to met my new teachers, and also like most kid I was nervous for a homework overload on the first day! Ug! But my feelings have now flipped. On the first day of school I walk into my homeroom heart beating fast and head swarming, the teacher is there and I thought I might have a nervous breakdown and the teacher sort of gave the the imprint she could be strict if she wanted to. Well wednesday changed my mind about the principles and the teachers we were in an assembly when one of our principles switches the slide to behaviors the hole Middle School sighs miserably. Just as he started to speak music comes on and all the teachers get go to the floor and start to dance?!?! After that I definitely will not judge any teacher before I truly get to know them. My thinking has definitely changed don’t judge anyone based on stories, older kids and sometimes adults. doing this will affect how i see people and i hope it helps me make ...
