Then your going to start solving by switching 1/8 to 8/1 becuase you are going to miltipy next and if you didn't witch one it would just be multipying and you only switch the one that is being divided into the other number. Next you multipy across the top and bottom so 3 times 8 = 24 and 4 times 1 = 4 so 24 is the top and 4 is the bottom making 24/4. Lastly you simplify, find a number they both can be divided by 4 in this case 24 divided by 4 = 6 and 4 divided by 4 = 1 so 6/1 so 6 wholes so the answer is 6.
